Tesla To Recruit Engineers In Mexico On the Eve Of Model 3 Production

The Model 3 is about to start production, and the Tesla factory in Fremont, CA is gearing up for a significant increase in employees. The Fremont plant is expected to increase its number of employees from 6,000 to 9,000, and to fill the hundreds of positions currently listed, Tesla is recruiting in Mexico for manufacturing engineers.

Mexico has recently seen tremendous growth in its automotive manufacturing industry, with 19 car factories popping up in recent years including General Motors, Ford, and Volkswagen. Dominik Knapp, a Tesla engineer, and David Johnson, a senior recruiter, recently posted an ad on LinkedIn, looking for “top engineers” at an upcoming recruitment drive in Monterrey, Mexico.

A number of positions were listed, with everything ranging from automation engineers to quality control. The event is being held this week with an open house on Friday, May 5th at the Grand Vista Americana.

This recruitment drive is familiar territory for Tesla’s new Vice President of Production, Peter Hochholdinger, who at one time served as an advisor for bringing Audi’s new Puebla facility online in Mexico. Hochholdinger is also currently heading up the current recruitment drive on LinkedIn for Tesla. He has first-hand experience with Mexico’s engineering talent.

This sounds like an incredible opportunity to work for Tesla on the eve of one of their biggest launches in company history!
