There have been two huge price jumps on the Model 3 and Model Y since last month alone. Tesla is launching another in November based on an overnight software upgrade to its online configurator.
Tesla has altered the pricing of paint colors once again, this time alongside the fundamental price increase. Solid Black colour option has now increased to $1,500 and Midnight Silver Metallic has now been included as a standard option. Tesla is now also offering two additional paint colors for free: Pearl White Multi-Coat and Midnight Silver Metallic.
This year’s price hikes were particularly harsh on the Model 3, which was hit especially hard in terms of cost increases. The Standard Range Plus increased from $43,990 to $44,990, the price of the Long Range AWD went from $49,990 to $50,990 and the Performance model went from $57,990 to $58,990.
The Model 3 Standard Range Plus, which Tesla is now referring to as Model 3 RWD, has increased in price by 21% this year. It was priced at $37,000 in January.
Tesla has reportedly expanded the list of standard features on the Model 3, including a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats. At least consumers are receiving more for their money now!
Tesla has also increased the prices of both versions of the Model Y in today’s online configurator upgrade. The Tesla Model Y Long-Range Dual Motor has increased from $56,99 to $57,990 and the Tesla Model Y Performance has gone from $61,990 to $62,990.
The Model Y has also received the same paint variety modifications as the Model 3.
On top of all of this, Tesla also changed the delivery timelines based on adding options to the configurations.
