Tesla Headquarters Officially Moved To Gigafactory Texas

Tesla has now revealed that it has permanently relocated its headquarters to a site adjacent to Gigafactory Texas in Austin. Elon Musk announced at Tesla’s 2021 shareholder meeting in October that the company would be relocating its office from Palo Alto, California, to Austin, Texas.

At the time, the CEO didn’t expand on the decision or disclose the site, but it was expected to be at Gigafactory Texas.

Tesla has officially changed its headquarters address once again, according to a new SEC document released today.

On December 1, 2021, Tesla, Inc. relocated its corporate headquarters to Gigafactory Texas at 13101 Harold Green Road, Austin, Texas 78725.

It’s now a common question among Tesla enthusiasts: Will Tesla move its headquarters into the main Gigafactory Texas structure or to another building on the site, which covers a massive 2,000 acres?

The fact that it won’t be located in the main structure does not negate the possibility that it will be placed there, as addresses on new developments like this one are frequently misaligned and erased over time.

Here’s a new drone flyover of the Gigafactory Texas site from yesterday, which provides an excellent update on the development:

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that after he became irritated with the limits that made it difficult for Tesla to restart manufacturing, the company would depart California. Tesla subsequently unveiled its intention to establish a large factory and complex in Austin, but the company’s headquarters remained in Palo Alto.

Musk himself has officially relocated to Texas, and there have been reports that Tesla will soon follow. It’s now official, but the CEO is adamant that Tesla will continue to develop in California.
