This Ford Mustang EV Is £350,000 Worth Of Electric American Muscle

This sympathetically EV version of the classic Mustang is in its former glory from the outside but while it’s sat on the same main chassis elements, it produces 536hp from an all-electric powertrain and it’s interior has undergone a complete overhaul to match this update.

The Charge Ford Mustang EV was revealed back in 2019 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The displayed vehicle was not finished or completely functional but still created a lot of buzz around it and fans seemed to be excited for what the company were planning to produce.

Well, Charge have now released the production-intent version. Looking from the outside, it is hard to see the difference between the original 1967 Ford Mustang and the new electric one as they have kept the classic body but when you dive in further you see just how much they have done.

The dual-motor electric powertrain gives a 0-60 mph time in just 3.9 seconds with 536 hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque. As well as this, there are bigger brakes and a custom suspension.

The 64 kWh battery pack is claimed to give a maximum range of 200 miles according to the manufacturer but estimates from a couple of years ago claim this would be at about 124 miles.

No expense has been spared on the interior as they have ripped out the original and replaced it all with modern features. These include the digital driver’s display and the large infotainment screen. Although, they have drastically changed the inside, they have kept a retro feel and tried to have it in-keeping with the original which we love.

Charge plans on producing 499 of these which can be tailored to owners specifications, and will be charging about £200,000 more than originally planned at a price tag of £350,000.
