Infiniti Quick-X Takes The Competition To The Tesla Cybertruck

Few details, but the idea of an all-electric pickup seems to be spreading.

We’ve said again and again, the Cybertruck has truly split opinions. And that’s okay because it’s meant that it’s been pushed in front of the eyes of almost everyone in the industry. But Infiniti may have just taken top spot for most crazy electric pickup concept yet with what they’re calling the Quick-X.

With demand for larger electric cars slowly rising, Infiniti have taken a design straight from Judge Dredd while utilising Infiniti’s premium design language. The windscreen begins at the very front of the truck and curves far up over the cabin enveloping the roof just like Tesla design.

The cabin is also sat far forward on the chassis to give the occupants more room and more visibility. The bed is large, although no sizes have been officially confirmed, and the rear looks more modern Mazda than anything else. This is definitely not a bad thing.

Of course, like the Cybertruck, this is still a concept and will need modifications before it’s fit to drive on the public road. Side mirrors will need to be added, and I doubt this design has taken into account a crash test safety rating. However, it’s great to see Tesla pushing the boundaries of what the motor industry can give the market, and to see other established companies following suit.

For now there is no other information on the Quick-X, but hopefully this will be the first of many competitors to add their own touch to the market because, as always, competition breeds innovation. And isn’t that the point?
