Tesla Cybertruck: A Number Of Design Changes Coming According To Elon Musk

The Tesla Cybertruck Dashboard Is Made From Paper, Not Marble

More information has been revealed regarding the Tesla Cybertruck that will be starting production in 2021 from CEO Elon Musk. The controversial design has been mocked by many since its reveal late last year, and this has pushed discussion on social media. Musk was asked on Twitter if the design of the all-electric pickup truck will remain largely the same. He answered saying it will be “slightly better”.

How the design will change has been unclear, but several people have outlined the basic changes needed to abide by safety regulations. One of the most obvious changes will be the body of the car which is currently stated as being steel. It is extremely hard and able to take a collision without crumpling. Normal cars have specific crumple zones to absorb impacts, so Tesla will surely have to think about this.

Musk also described some other features not found before on pickup trucks in a different tweet after being asked about a payload/towing calculator.

“Yes, will also show real-time changes to max acceleration, braking, cornering, speed on gradient & range, latter factoring in route elevation changes & cargo or tow mass & drag impact,” he answered. The truck will also feature active ride height and active damping that “are game-changing for a truck or any car with a high max/min weight ratio.”

The Cybertruck will start production later next year with the single and dual-motor variants. The third and final variant will be released the following year with three motors. They will cost $39,900, $49,900, and $69,900 respectively.
