It’s been a turbulent and stressful month for Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk. His companies have been at the forefront of socio-political matters, he has a very important crewed space flight coming up, and more than anything… and episode of Jay Leno’s Garage will feature the new Cybertruck.
With all of that commotion, many people overlooked his wholesome AMA with the highschooler-run Hack Club. Back at the end of April, the national collective of nerdy kids had Elon video-call into an hour long AMA session.
The call, which was only supposed to go for 30 minutes, ended up lasting over an hour. They covered all kinds of topics, ranging from simulation theory, to Musk’s many business dealings, and even his jam “Don’t Doubt Your Vibe.”
[Hack Club] makes me feel much more optimistic about the future.
At several points, Musk commended the students for their thoughtful questions,”better questions than all the mainstream media,” and really did seem to be enjoying himself. It begs the question, what if Elon Musk, billionaire, gave it all up and became a highschool science teacher?
Well, not really, I think only I asked that, but still. Anyway, Musk now has donated $500,000.00 to the club, which presumably will go towards all kinds of fun gadgets. Now maybe the club can use that capital to invest in model rockets, chemistry sets, or even paper plates and cups for sweet after-school parties. Well, they actually intend on using the money to add 1,000 new members to the club!
See, Elon is a nice guy. We knew it all along! Congrats Hack Club, don’t spend it all in one place!
