Musk recently put an offer in for $41 billion to take over Twitter and we are waiting to hear if it has been successful or not. This came just a week after he took a 9.2% stake in the social media platform.
After taking the stake in the company, Musk was offered a seat on the board but turned it down, which would have prohibited him from being able to buy out the company.
Whilst we wait to see what the outcome of his offer is, Musk Tweeted to his 82 million followers what his plans would be if his offer was to go ahead. He said:
“If our Twitter bid succeeds, we will defeat the spam bots or die trying!

It is not clear yet when a decision is likely to be made but many people have been tweeting their opinions on the situation and although the views are mixed, there seems to be a lot in favour at the moment.
