Elon Musk Mocked After ‘Anti-Congestion’ Tunnel Ironically Blocks With Traffic

After a tunnel that was built to bring an end to traffic was ironically exposed with huge queues of cars inside, many people took to Twitter to ridicule Elon Musk over the irony of the situation. The tunnel was opened in June 2021 and was duped by Musk as the solution to city traffic congestion all over the world.

The billionaire’s Boring Company built the 1.7-mile tunnel that will be used for the 2022 CES expo, which is billed as “the most important technology trade fair in the world.”

Reports of traffic are proving particularly devastating this year, as the annual CES event is far less crowded than usual owing to worries about rising instances of Omicron in the United States. The exhibition hall is nearly empty, with stalls for major electronics firms visited by just a few individuals instead of the usual crowds.

Following a Twitter user’s warning that there were no emergency exits in the tunnel, internet users expressed worry. Instead of having emergency escape routes, drivers with The Boring Company are “trained” to go on to the following station if something goes wrong and in the event a vehicle collides and creates a blockage ahead, drivers are told to back out of the tunnel.

Elon Musk revealed his intentions in 2016 to build subterranean tunnels beneath Las Vegas that would allow automobiles to travel at speeds of over 100 miles per hour, but only one has been constructed thus far.

Do you think Musk will follow through with these plans?
