The thousands of SpaceX Starlink satellites could keep Ukraine online if the current internet system gets destroyed in the current Russia attacks.
Ukraine’s First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, called for assistance on Saturday following Ukraine fighting off cyberattacks as well as invasions from Russia. Musk’s decision came as a response to Fedorov’s appeal.

Fedorov took to Twitter to individually call out Musk, saying:
“While you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand.”
“Starlink service is now active in Ukraine. More terminals en route.”
Fedorov has since taken to Twitter again to confirm the arrival of Starlink.
