Elon Musk To Reveal Part 3 Of His World-Changing Master Plan Next Month

Elon Musk is expected to announce Master Plan Part 3, an outline of his vision for a sustainable energy future, during the Tesla Investor Day on March 12, 2023. This follows Master Plan Part 1 from 2006, which outlined his strategy for making Tesla a global car maker, and Master Plan Part 2 from 2016, which included goals for entering all areas of the vehicle industry, developing self-driving vehicles, and expanding the energy business.

In 2006, Elon shared his original vision in the form of a blog post titled “Master Plan Part 1”. This detailed his strategy for making Tesla a global car maker, beginning with the creation of a high-end sports car and using the profits to develop more accessible models, until an affordable mass-market electric vehicle could be produced. Despite doubts, all these goals were eventually achieved.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, speaks during a South by Southwest panel in Austin in 2018. SpaceX is planning a rocket engine production facility near Waco, Musk said on social media Saturday.

“Master Plan, Part Deux” was released ten years later with even more ambitious targets. It included Tesla’s intentions to venture into all areas of the vehicle industry, develop self-driving vehicles that could generate profits through autonomous ride-sharing, and broaden the energy sector. Seven years have since passed, and while this is a work in progress for the CEO, Musk is looking to expand quickly.

Tesla is set to launch the Cybertruck in 2024 with another vehicle under development – rumoured to be a much cheaper hatchback-style car. And while the energy sector has seen growth with the production of the Megapack, the full self-driving software has yet to be released, putting the autonomous robotaxi plan on hold for the time being.

Now, in a recent tweet, Elon stated that Master Plan 3 will aim for a “fully sustainable energy future for Earth.” This signals a comprehensive plan that will encompass a variety of topics beyond just clean energy and electrified transportation. The plan will be presented during an investor call on March 1.

In an article for China Cyberspace magazine, Elon hinted at the inclusion of subjects such as humanoid robots, Neuralink, and space exploration.

The highly anticipated Master Plan 3 is expected to be a defining moment in Musk’s career, bringing together his numerous ventures from the past two decades.
