Elon Musk’s 5 Most Controversial Tweets As Tesla Stock Value Dies

Elon Musk is often causing chaos on social media with his ‘out-there’ views and with Musk having taken over the social media platform earlier this year, we have put together a compilation of just some of his most controversial Tweets.

5. Making Tesla Private

This one goes back to 2018 but a lot still remember the backlash this received at the time. The Tesla CEO always likes to joke on Twitter and this time was no different with him saying “at $420”. Although he wasn’t joking about making the company private, he didn’t go ahead with it in the end. He wrote:

“Am considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured.”

He added on:

“Shareholders could either to sell at 420 or hold shares & go private”

4. Causing The Tesla Stock Price To Dive

Elon Musk caused Tesla stocks to fall in one sentence. Back in 2020, Musk have all Tesla investors screaming at their screens when he wrote:

“Tesla stock price is too high imo [in my opinion]”

One Tesla investor hit back at Musk writing:

“What is wrong with you! This tweet alone just lost me over £300. I literally have half my savings in Tesla stocks (only 4 stocks) but that is going to be my funds when I go to uni this year. Just because you can don’t care if you loose money, stop screwing over your shareholders!”

Another wrote:

“Dude…I just lost $10k because of this tweet. Wtf is wrong with u” [sic]

3. Getting Involved With The War Between Russia & Ukraine

Musk received more criticism when he put forward what he thinks would end the war between Russia and Ukraine. He wrote along with a poll:

“Ukraine-Russia Peace:

“- Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.

“- Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).

“- Water supply to Crimea assured.

“- Ukraine remains neutral.”

2. Shooting down Bernie Sanders

Musk very quickly put Bernie Sanders in his place in 2021. Sanders, who has served as the junior United States senator from Vermont since 2007, wrote:

“We must demand that the extremely wealthy pay their fair share. Period.”

Musk replied saying:

“I keep forgetting that you’re still alive”

Marianne Williamson was quick to call Musk out, writing:

“What a deeply offensive thing to say.”

Amy Holden Jones was also not impressed, commenting:

“Congrats. I will never buy a Tesla.”

1. Putting down the coronavirus pandemic

The Coronavirus pandemic was a struggle for many and as lockdowns were being introduced across the World, Musk wrote on Twitter:

“The coronavirus panic is dumb”

The Tesla CEO received a huge amount of backlash for this. One user wrote:

This is such an inconsiderate, ruthless comment on your part  I lost a very dear aunt and people I knew, just like millions of people who are still mourning their loved ones. Shame on you @elonmusk, I thought you were not only smart, but also compassionate”
