Tesla Light Show Community Goes All In On Open Source

Tesla’s latest update has sparked a lot of excitement with owners as they can transform their vehicles into stationary light shows. Owners of Tesla cars must install the open source program xLights in order to use this feature. The software allows Tesla drivers to produce light shows that are linked to a specific song. However, there are certain restrictions such as the song cannot be longer than five minutes.

Light shows “work with all Model S, new Model X, and any Model 3 or Model Y” according to Tesla’s documentation for the update. It’s one of several new features included as part of the upgrade, along with enhanced cold weather functionality and a better user interface.
