After a long wait for customers owning Tesla vehicles – with many of them querying the lack of feature – Tesla has finally given Autopilot 2.0+ cars the ability to sense rain.
Can someone teach my @tesla how to wipe its own windscreen? Perhaps a @ford fiesta could give it some pointers? #whyNoAutoWipe?!

The feature has been released as a Beta and gives Teslas the ability to change their wiper settings to suit the amount of rainfall it detects. For example, light rain will only require slow windscreen wiping, heavy rain a faster, less intermittent action.
There are two ways this can be done. Tesla says this:
“Keep your windshield clear with automatic wipers (Beta)
“You can now set your Model S windshield wipers to turn on automatically in wet weather. Tap CONTROLS > Settings > Vehicle. and set AUTOWIPERS (BETA) to ON.
“Then adjust the sensitivity of the wipers so that they turn on based on how much rain is on your windshield.
“Want them to turn on intermittently when a medium amount of rain has accumulated? Choose the Auto 1 option on the wiper lever.
“Or, choose the more sensitive Auto 2 option if you prefer wiping as soon as the vehicle sense even just a light mist or drizzle, such as when driving out of the garage on a foggy morning.
“To make sure your windshield is clear, the wiping speed automatically adjust based on how much rain accumulates between each wipe.”
Wanted again to send a note of deep gratitude to Tesla owners WW for taking a chance on a new company that all experts said would fail.
So much blood, sweat & tears from the Tesla team went into creating cars that you’d truly love. I hope you do.
How can we improve further?
